Sky Sports claimed that Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has agreed to join Spanish champion Real Madrid on a four-year agreement when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Rudiger agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer after turning down the opportunity to continue at Chelsea beyond this season. According to Sky Sports, the German international will join Los Blancos on July 1 on a four-year contract paying €400,000 (£342,000) per week.
Last month, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel stated that Rudiger will not be re-signing with the club.
Rudiger was pursued by a number of teams in Europe, including Barcelona, PSG, and Manchester United.
The 29-year-old, though, was thrilled by Real’s interest and will now relocate to the Spanish city.
Toni Rüdiger has already completed his medical tests as new Real Madrid player, club sources confirm. Deal now 100% done as reported earlier. ⚪️🤝 #RealMadrid
