Fernandinho left City as the club’s most decorated player and stated it was a dream to wear the Paranaense shirt again 17 years later. He has signed a two-year contract and will wear the number five shirt.
“Without a doubt, I am fulfilling a personal goal, a dream to put on the Athletico shirt again,” he stated at a press conference on Monday, announcing his intention to retire after his new contract expires.
