Dropping odds explained

When bookmakers cut the price on a result, the odds drop. It usually follows heavy betting on that result, or news such as a key player missing for the other side. This page lists today's biggest drops in the 1X2 market, worked out by comparing the latest odds with the first odds we recorded for each match.

On each card, the box with the moved result is filled; the backup column shows the opening odds for that result, and the small line underneath shows the move, e.g. “Home 2.20 → 1.85”. The Tip column is our own model's pick, so you can see whether the market agrees with us. Tap any match for the full preview.

Odds that have fallen since the bookmaker first priced the match – for example a home win that opened at 2.20 and is now 1.85. It usually means a lot of money has been placed on that result, or news (injuries, line-ups) has made it more likely.

Should I follow dropping odds?

They show where the market is moving, not what will happen. By the time odds have dropped, the value is often gone. Use them next to our prediction and the team news. 18+.
